As an ATS (applicant tracking system) provider that prides itself on helping smaller employers with limited time and budgets, Indeed has always been a key partner for us.
Read on to see how you can easily integrate our ATS with Indeed to unlock its full potential in your recruitment process. This quick blog post is created to help you easily leverage Indeed’s reach and capabilities.
TLDR: For hireful ATS customers, our latest data (Oct 2024) shows 49% of the total applicants for all our clients coming from Indeed Easy Apply and a further 11% coming via the Indeed standard apply method.
not all integrations are created equal.
A lot of ATS providers link up with Indeed so their clients’ jobs can show up there. While that’s a great start, there’s a lot more your ATS can do if it has the right integration.
here are the key updates we’ve built:
1. Easy Apply or standard redirect
Today’s internet user has high expectations—after all, if they can order a pizza and buy tickets for Oasis at Wembley in under a minute, why should applying for a job take any longer?
(Okay, perhaps the Oasis tickets might be more of a challenge.)
Most major UK job boards—who we work with, including Indeed—have made it easy for applicants to apply in just a few clicks. This way, they don’t get sent off to a company’s careers site to deal with a long application process.
2. Easy Apply / apply via mobile
This is super important for mobile jobseekers, who make up about 70% of Indeed’s traffic. As you can see in the screenshot below, Indeed lets mobile users filter out any jobs that aren’t “Easy Apply.” They get that mobile users often feel frustrated applying for jobs if it’s not quick and simple.
3. hireful’s Easy Apply integration
hireful’s ATS allows our customers to choose whether they would like to accept “Easy Apply” applicants or ask applicants to be redirected to complete a full application form on their careers site.
4. screening questions
Indeed lets ATS providers add extra screening questions to jobs posted with Easy Apply. This way, while you keep things quick for applicants, you can still ask two or three key questions to make sure they’re genuinely interested and a good fit for your role.
With hireful’s ATS, you get this option, plus our team is here to help you choose the right questions to add.
Here are some example questions that are important for a Telesales vacancy:
5. quickly update live job content
Your first draft might need a few tweaks—maybe you've changed your mind about the salary or the must-have requirements.
With hireful’s ATS, any updates you make to your advert copy will show up on Indeed within 24 hours.
6. the Easy Apply challenge (and solution)
There’s a downside to “Easy Apply”—you get a lot more applicants, but you also miss out on some important information since they skip your usual application form. While Indeed provides the basics like contact details, expected salary, and notice period, it doesn’t capture any diversity information.
That’s why we created our diversity capture process. It’s simple, really. If an applicant applies for your job and we don’t have their diversity data, we send them a friendly email asking if they’re willing to share that information.
This is what the email looks like:
This one simple email accounts for 28% of the diversity data our customers collect (as of October 2024).
Indeed and hireful ATS
Looking ahead, hireful plans to roll out more integrations with Indeed and other free-to-post websites.
